Sandbox manual

What is a sandbox?

The Avaloq sandbox is a complete ACP (Avaloq Core Platform) including a dedicated database in the cloud. Once you have on-boarded, you can request your own sandbox and obtain your individual sandbox environment for developing your applications and banklets using
Avaloq Open APIs.

Get access to your own sandbox

To request your dedicated sandbox, go to the “sandbox” tab, or click on “request a sandbox” on your dashboard, and fill out the request form. To grant you full access to our sandbox capability, we simply request some information about your company. The sandbox is for free and filling out the form only takes a few minutes. Once your access has been granted, you will receive a confirmation email.

Note: we can only provide sandboxes to legal entities, hence you receive access to one sandbox for your company, and not one for every individual user. Therefore, the request form must be filled only once and the person who submitted the request and granted access will automatically become the admin of the company's sandbox. The admin will be able to add other users. Additional users just need an account.

Initiating your sandbox

Once access has been granted, you will receive a confirmation email from us. You can now start your sandbox by selecting the sandbox tab in the navigation bar on the left side and then click open sandbox. The sandbox application will open automatically in a separate window.

When you open the sandbox for the first time you need to create a sandbox – just go to the sandbox tab in the navigation bar and then click on add sandbox. Choose a name and template for your sandbox and confirm by clicking on add a sandbox. Your personalized sandbox will now be created in the cloud.

Accessing your sandbox

To access your sandbox, you need the URL and a JSON Web Token (JWT) to authorize your API calls. Click on “Details” to see the sandbox information necessary to get started. You see the URL to access your sandbox and you can generate a JWT by clicking “Generate tokens”.

Tip: You can copy both the URL as well as the token by clicking on the [copy icon].

Authorization token

To enable the use of our APIs you need to get authenticated. To authenticate, simply generate a JWT by clicking on Generate tokens in the details view of your cockpit.

Important: the JWT will be valid for 4 hours; after 24 hours the sandbox will be stopped automatically.

Make your first API call to the sandbox

With your own sandbox up and running, there is nothing standing in your way to use the data for your solution.

Check out our resources page and access all information that will guide you through the initial steps. We offer you videos, step-by-step tutorials, postman collections and code samples.

Happy coding!
